# Who we are

Checkout Bench is built by Ethan Bazargan, Sher Chaudhary and Alec Papierniak, the co-founders of [Playground](https://www.playground.ooo), an applied AI company in Los Angeles.

We have deep experience building reinforcement learning training environments, and a background in machine learning. Checkout Bench grew out of that work. If agents are going to shop for people, someone has to test them on real stores, with real checkouts, and grade every run in code.
